Internationalization of JILM

何とも大風呂敷を広げたような題名でせん越ですが, 当軽金属学会の国際化に関 して本欄を借 りて一 言述べさせて頂 きます。 本学会は, その規模において近年ほぼ成熟に達 した感がある。会員数をはじめ, 春秋の大会における 講演件数や参加者, 学会誌の論文投稿数や年間ページ数などもここ数年あま り増加はしていないように 思える。これを打破 して今後の飛躍を図るにはどうすればよいだろうか。それには, 国際化を図ること により学会の裾野を広げることが肝要であると考えられる。 当軽金属学会は世界的にも極めてユニークな学会で, その活動を通 じて, とくに軽金属に係わる工業 技術の一次情報の提供機関としてすでに世界的にも重要な地位を占めているものと思われる。例えば, 西独の専門商業誌である Aluminium 誌が ここ数年の間「軽 金属」に 掲載された研究論文の英文要約を 掲載 している。た...
